Dear Springfield Families & Friends,
We made it! The 2024-45 school year is officially in the books...
Staff and students enjoyed an awesome last day filled with lots of Field Day fun, courtesy of our Parent Group. A special thank you to Mrs. Alvarez and all her amazing volunteers who made this day possible. WOOHOO!
All students were issued final report cards on Thursday, June 5th. If your child's didn't make it home, please contact the Main Office and an extra copy can be mailed to you.
The Springfield Main Office will remain open from 9 a.m. -2 p.m. daily through Thursday, June 18th. After that time, the building will be closed with the exception of Summer Fun weeks. Families wishing to transfer students in/out of MSD143 or those who need other assistance can call to make an appointment and/or leave a detailed voicemail message. Secretaries will return your call when able up until the 18th and then again during Summer Fun. Otherwise, outside of those specific dates/times, please call our District Office at (708) 388-6450. Someone there will better be able to assist you. NOTE: Springfield School will reopen once again on Monday, August 4th, for the 2025-26 school year.
We are looking forward to seeing our students who will be attending Summer Fun here at Springfield School beginning Monday, July 7th from 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. This program runs a total of 3 weeks Monday through Thursday only and ends on Thursday, July 24th. Please make every effort to ensure your child's regular and timely attendance, as this program is an excellent way to bridge the transition to the next grade and set him/her up for success.
As always, thank you for your continued support of the students and staff of Springfield School. This year was an exciting one for all of us as we anxiously awaited the completion of our addition project. It's been wonderful being able to fully utilize all the new and improved spaces. We appreciate the understanding, patience, and flexibility that our school community displayed during this process!
And of course, as you know, I will be stepping down as principal as of June 30th. It has been an honor and blessing to lead Springfield School. Watching your children grow, learn, and thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally—has brought me immense pride and inspiration. Whether greeting students at morning drop-off, celebrating their achievements, or simply watching them interact with one another, I have been reminded each day of the incredible potential that lives within our classrooms.
I am profoundly grateful for your partnership, trust, and support over the years. I will always hold this community close to my heart. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your children’s educational journey—it has truly been a gift.
Best wishes for a safe and relaxing summer... GO CHARGERS!
